Vocations Fair and other events on campus

We just had our Annual Vocations Fair, which contrary to what many thought, was for everyone and not just those looking for jobs, or their vocation. We had 16 different religious communities from around the nation and the Priests from the Wichita Diocese. It was a great chance to learn more about religious life and how it plays an important role in the Catholic Church. Also it was nice to see that religious men and women can have a good time and that they DO play games like poker, bluff, and ultimate Frisbee.
Along with this event we had a couple of others going on around the same time. Whereas the Remote? was the production put on by the music department here at Newman. They did an amazing job with the music, the acting, the dancing, and the props!!! This production is always a favorite of the community, because the choral always does such an amazing job.
Following this event was Big Man On Campus which was an event used to raise money for a Guatemalan Orphanage. This was created and carried out by the business students and professors. 8 guys performed and presented, much like a pageant, and it was just a fun time to hang out with friends and get a good laugh. They are working to create a social entrepreneurship project that will help out the marginalized around the world. Take it easy!
