About Louise Sjoberg

Louise Sjoberg has written 26 post in this blog.

OK, since I had some criticism from a guest for my ghost strories during a tour, I decided to investigate into the matter a little deeper. Maybe I was arrogant to the fact that there might be some spirits up on the 3rd floor in Sacred Heart.

Linda Fields directed me to Rosemary Niedens office. If one does not believe in spirits before a visit, one almost certainly does after one. I was in her office for over an hour educating myself with all of the ghosts said to float around campus. Niedens assure that all of them are positive spirits. After my visit, I can assure that I would not like to be alone on the 3rd floor in McNeil at night. Booo! Scary…

And, I have also leared how “cool” Mother Beata was (still is?). I feel asleep the other night thinking about all the stories Rosemary told me.

It is interesting to think that we know things until we realize that we have no idea… I still have no idea… Ghosts or no ghosts in SHH? I don’t know what to believe.

Dear Louise: I wrote a long article in the Vantage around October of 1980 or ’81 about the 3rd Floor Admin. Bldg. ghost. As an alumni years later I took a ghost tour where the tour guide said (in Beata Hall) that the legend was that if any two people are alone in the building at night Mother Beata will appear. This kid and I were talking about the story as the crowd filed out of Beata Hall that night, we were the last. Then we heard someone jingle keys and drop them to the floor. Security? Someone Else? The kid and I took a split second to look at each other and we bolted for the door. I never got his name, but once outside we shook hands. And we did not look back at Beata Hall…
