Hi, Howdy, and Hello! My name is Brittany Griggs, I am a junior here at the good ole NU. I chose to attend Newman University to major in Nursing and be part of their amazing BSN program. I am also one of the team captians of the Newman Dance/Cheer squad as part of enhancing my college eduacation and love it! I love meeting new people, and can't wait to meet you.

Well, first “real” cold day of the year, have to say i am not too incredibly thrilled about it, but i shall stay positive, because i do enjoy drinking hot tea, chai lattes, and wearing my boots.

Midterms are finally over, and now it is time to start preparing for upcoming exams, research papers, and class projects. First though, we will take a pit stop at Halloween, this year i have decided to go out on a whim. I have concluded that I am going to attempt to pull off, being a legit ”cheeta”. I have also decided along with this bright idea of mine, to go to MAC makeup and have them design a mask for me. It should be an interesting adventure, for sure. Just a reminder, the ”Halloween Dance” is tomorrow 9pm-midnight, hope to see you there!

Now i would like to wish the best of luck to the Womens Soccer team, who will be playing here at Newman, last home game, during the cold front that is supposed to be coming in, hopefully the rain won’t hit til it is over!

Hope you all have a wonderful, wednesday!

  1. Jeff Baker, KNC '83 says:

I remember snowy days in the 1980′s when I went to Newman. Check the old Vantage issues from spring of ’80, and you’ll se the Vantage logo we had covered in snow (around Feb. or March of 1980.)

I love the cold! It sure beats the 115 we had this summer.

  3. I have a riding buddy up here in Massachusetts who is still riding his bike in December!
Yesterday he rode it in to work when it was 18 degrees! Eighteen degrees! I have to point out that he doesn’t live two miles from work, he travels a full 35 miles on the back roads and the highway. Can you say “wind chill”? He does have the Gerbings heated gloves and inner soles but that’s it. He did get the heated pants in the mail yesterday so I guess he’s good to go down to the single numbers! Out of the dozen or so bikes that were parked in our parking lot at work i the summer only his sits out there alone on these bitterly cold days.
