Another semester has began….and yet again I am in over my head in things to do, but I love it! To be quite honest, I’m not quite sure what I would do if I wasn’t as involved as I am (hmm….probably more homework..eh). In my two years here at Newman I have dabbled in everything from cheerleading (uhm….I ment to say yell-leading) to Organic Chemistry. It was in those two years that I discovered what I really love to do. I love being a student ambassador. Seeing students that I gave tours to come to Newman makes me proud. I wish I could remember every tour I have ever given, but sadly my brain needs to use memory space for other things, like the biochemical processes involved in cellular respiration. Which leads me to the second thing that I love: school. I know you are probably thinking that I am some mega nerd, well, the truth is, that I am. Going to class in the morning and learning about genetics and microbes makes me happy! The Honors Program at Newman also helps make some of my other classes even more interesting. This semester my honors class is The Quest for Meaning: The Theology of Science Fiction. Now, before people strike me down for blasphemy, allow me to explain the idea of the class. I get to read science fiction novels, short stories, and poems. Not to mention, I also get to watch sci-fi TV shows and movies. We then look for Christian religious ideas that appear in sci-fi. It is a great class! There is no lecture, instead the class will just discuss the reading assignment in class. This class really allows my imagination to soar. Last but not least, I love theatre. Theatre lets me express my inner kid. I love being able to make a fool of myself on stage and hearing the audience’s laughter. The improv troupe is going to the regional improv competition tomorrow in Kansas City. I will try to put a link on this blog so that you guys can watch us compete this saturday at 1pm! I AM SO EXCITED FOR IT! This semester is going to be a great one!
May all your lives be bueno,

I love school too. But didn’t have a chance for another school time
“The Theology of Science Fiction” is interesting theme for research, many writers and directors interconnected sci-fi and religion. So there’re a lot of things to be discussed
