BY JOVE! The semester is almost over! Eeeeek! The fall musical production has put me behind in school, but it is propelling me forward. We just got done with our production of the murder mystery, musical comedy “Somethings Afoot”. This Agatha Christie spoof was a show stopper every night. I got to play Colonel Gillwether, a british colonel in his 50′s who loves parties, especially scouting parties. I love this theatre program; it brings a lot of joy to my life. Mark Mannette, the theatre director here at Newman, decided to enter the musical into regional competition. If the show gets picked for the regional festival, we will get to perform it again in January! I actually got nominated for an Irene Ryan acting award because of my performance. This nomination gives me the opportunity to travel to the regional festival and compete for the award. I am really excited for this opportunity. I find it a little amusing that I got nominated for an acting award because I am a biology major. Newman just keeps giving opportunities in all my fields of interest, and I am very grateful for that.
-What ho!
Colonel Gillwether.
