Hey y’all
So I had a busy weekend with helping out with the ASC weekend that went awesome!! I met some great students that I hope to see here on Newman’s campus soon!! I hope all the ASC folks had an awesome time this weekend! We had a lot of great students here at Newman this weekend and it was so much fun showing them what Newman is all about!! I also had an exciting time seeing “Jersey Boys!” Let me tell you guys it was awesome! Definitely worth going to see, especially since my friends and I got student rush tickets for $25 and the seats were awesome because we were 10 ROWS FROM THE STAGE!!! You read that right…10th row!!
So just when I thought I was on top of my homework I quickly realized how much was piling up over the weekend! Luckily I was able to knock that pile down last night!! There’s still a lot to do but it’s a great thing to not be stressed. Well guys tomorrow’s Ash Wednesday which means the start of Lent! My sweet tooth has been on a frenzy lately so I’ve decided I’m going to give up candy this year…perhaps all sweets but who knows. The great thing about going to Newman is that there are services right here on campus so I don’t have to worry about finding a chruch! Anyone want to guess what the worst part about giving up candy this year is going to be? The fact that Valentine’s Day is right after Lent starts!! Seriously, the one holiday that involves a bunch of candy (besides Halloween) is going to happen right after I give it up! I’m going to have to stay strong this year but honestly I have no concerns! I also plan to go to church every week because I’ve been lacking in that aspect of my life hard core. But staying busy has not faultered people! CAB is going great, we’ve got some exciting things planned for February and I’ve started planning stuff for March so look out for those events (even possibly a swim night!!)!
If you’re looking for something to do this weekend we’re having Ice Skating at 7:30 pm so come enjoy that!!
Proud of you Victoria! Looks like a great plan for Lent. When I have struggles with my spiritual life, I seek a friend’s help. Find someone to be your “wingman” and keep you on target. It can be between just you and them and noone will ever know. Just be sure that they keep you accountable!
