8 Weeks to Go!

Mid terms have come and gone. We are on the downhill slide of one thing (school) and on the uphill of another (a new job, new house, and a wedding to plan) So many distractions that its hard to focus on these last 8 weeks of school. Luckily I got concurrent hours in high school and took 19 hours some semesters so I only have 7 hours right now. You would think having only 7 hours I could focus. But I am struggling. I’m just glad I have great teachers that understand how hectic life can be for students and they are willing to work with everyone’s lives. The next 8 weeks is time to bear down and still make the most of my last 8 weeks in college.

Entering the Real World

Well to follow up on my last post I did receive the job at Koch Industries. I am officially a Business Systems Analyst Intern for Flint Hills Resources. It is a whirlwind of emotions, excited for achieving a great job and a new opportunity, nervousness because of the unknown and sad because my lackadaisical summers are gone. Hopefully it will turn out to be a wonderful and enlightening experience and settle my nerves about a fulltime job in IT. Luckily I will have a couple friends going through it at the same time.

Possible Internship

College is going by so fast and I am getting nervous to go out in the real world and find a job especially during these economic times. But thanks to my advisor and my professors I have made it through the last interviews with KOCH Industries. I am waiting on a letter from them this week to see if I will be offered an internship with them this coming summer. If this falls through there are many more opportunities that my advisor has brought to my attention but this one would top them all. So keep your fingers crossed.
