]]> The End is Near!!!

No the world will probably not come to an end on May 16th at 10 am, but my world as I have known it for the past five years will change drastically. On that Saturday I will walk across the stage at graduation and become a graduate of Newman University! I can’t believe my college life is almost over. It is incredibly exciting and sad at the same time. I am excited to move on to my career but sad to leave behind all of the people who have become my family during the past few years.
This week has been full of finishing up assignments and preparing for finals that I have next week. But in the midst of all of the stress that comes at the end of every semester, I am soaking up all of the feelings, smells, and sounds that make up this wonderful campus. I am making all of the memories that I can. I am living it up!

]]> I still remember when I was a freshman here at Newman back in fall 2005 semester. A moment I will never forget is when I said to myself “I still got 3 more years, I got a long time ahead of me.” Well, today I only got 12 more days to graduate and finish with my degree. That is an amazing feeling for me but at the same time I would have to leave a campus that I used to walk on for 4 years and move forward to new beginnings of life. I am not gone yet, so I will make sure I enjoy the rest of my days as a student-athlete her at Newman University! Go Jets!

]]> Newman has really good academic philosophies that are reinforced by the professors here. At first I thought Newman to be like any other college or university regarding their Academic strength. I quickly realized that was not the case when I enrolled in a few of my “gen ed” classes the following semester and was challenged in every way possible. I’m not saying that Newman University rivals MIT, or Harvard or Yale. I am saying though that Newman is one of the most challenging universities with regards to small private schools are concern. I’m a little biased but I believe strongly that Newman is not even in the same playing field as other state schools that will go unmentioned for now. This school is a great bargain in terms of what you pay and what you will receive. Our success can be seen in our high acceptance rate for students applying to graduate programs including medical school, veterinary school and dentistry. All in all, if you want a school that prides itself on Academics and faith than by all means, highly consider Newman University and you will not be let down.
