I tried to start writing a blog for about 20 min ago, but for once I had nothing to say!? So my cure against silence was to browse the Swedish newspaper SvD. Today they had an article about a Muslim man who refused to shake hands with a female representative due to religious customs.

The man himself was given a trial period to work for a company by the “Swedish Work Agency,” but refused to shake hands, and here we come to the real problem… He is suing the Swedish Work Agency for discrimination, and was declared right by the “Stockholm’s Court,” who gave him the right to SEK60 000.

There is a swedish saying: “You follow the customs of where you are.” If there is someone who should have been sued, it was him. It is as much of discrimination directed towards her, if not more. The rest of us have to shake hands with everyone walking this planet, not selectively. A comment to this article said: “To refuse to shake hands with women is equivalent to refuse to serve black people at restaurants in the civilized world.” I think that I agree. The same person also said: “What if it had been a jew?” Where should we draw the line here?

I know for sure that I am very upset by this matter. I cannot believe the court let him get away with discrimination towards women, and he is receiving money for this. Crazy. Please comment, I want to hear your thoughts on this.
